History and Past Activities Redlands Sister Cities accelerates every year
1962 Redlands Sister City Committee Formed
1963 Hino became our Sister City; visitation and exchanges began
1966 Art exhibit hosted featuring Hino and Redlands students
1967 San Miguel de Allende became our Sister City
1968 Redlands City Council dedicates a Japanese garden to Redlands-Hino relations
1985 Redlands Terrier High School Band performed at Hino
1989 Student Exchange re-established
1991 Hino embroiders exhibited works at A.K. Smiley Library
1993 Redlands Sister Cities Association was incorporated; Sister City International Tri-Lateral program began; Redlands Soccer Team competed in Hino
1994 Pen pal program between San Miguel de Allende and Redlands students began
1995 Quilt and cut paper art exhibit form Hino displayed; 300 pairs of eye glasses donated to San Miguel de Allende by Redlands Lions Club; facilitated the donation of a wrought iron chandelier for the Redlands Post Office Museum
1996 Two Redlands firefighters participates in the first professional exchange with Hino
1998 Kimberly Elementary School and the First Elementary School of Hino became official sister school; Adult Day Care Center exchange between Redlands and Hino began
1999 Farmers exchange between Hino and Redlands began
2000 Redlands firefighters and high school students visited Hino; Hino students visited Redlands
2002 Redlands high school students visited Hino; Hino students with Hino Mayor and an embroidery group visited Redlands
2003 40 year celebration of Hino Sister City Exchange; an adult delegation visits Hino
2004 Redlands high school students visited Hino; Hino students visit Redlands.
2005 3 Teachers Matt, Jen, and Jillian go to Linli China to teach english for a year.
